Folks that Inspire /// Color / by Jen Bachelder

Since I moved from Chicago to Columbus, I've had to work much harder to stay plugged into the local art scene. If I'm being honest, I still haven't been that successful in Columbus. In the meantime, I've been taking advantage of Instagram's Discovery tab. The artists below are doing beautiful work with intense and considerate color.

Andrew Faris

Andrew's account is likely the real reason why I'm writing this post; I can't stop showing it to folks. Those simple geometric paintings in a textured natural setting? Straight from a dream.

Jessica Walsh

When it comes to color, Jessica is pedal-to-the-metal on regular basis. Her account is a library, a who's who of the most colorful artists around. If her name and work look familiar, you may  recognize it from 40 Days of Dating.

Paul Fuentes

Simple and straight-forward. It's fascinating that Paul can use only a few elements in each image, and still plant something interesting and unexpected for the audience.

Debbie Bean

Debbie has a dual skillset that allows her to consider both transparent and opaque color compositions. Yes and yes.

Kindah Khalidy

Kindah's work is all color (and appropriate negative space). Another moment of honesty: I enjoy the photos of her studio as much as those of her work.

If you see someone that I should see, let me know.
